Business & Ratings: a business rates advisory website
Client · Professional services · businessandratings.co.uk
The Business and Ratings Advisory Service Limited, based in Rubery near Birmingham, helps tenants, landlords, SMEs and larger companies with their business rates. We built its website, businessandratings.co.uk.

The problem
Business rates (NNDR) are a tax on most non-domestic property, and they’re easy to get wrong. A property can be assessed incorrectly, separate units can be lumped into one assessment, and when a property sits empty the bill usually falls on the landlord. Owners who want to question a bill then have to deal with the council and the Valuation Office Agency themselves.
The firm needed a site that explains these problems to property owners and makes it easy to hand the whole case over. Its approach is hands-on: it visits the premises, surveys them and deals with the council and the VOA, so clients don’t have to.
What we built
- Service pages for business rates, empty property rates and the Check, Challenge, Appeal process.
- Case studies showing the kinds of outcome the firm works towards, from full Small Business Rates Relief to a property removed from the rating list.
- An enquiry form that saves a step. Visitors can upload their NNDR bill with their message, so the firm can look at the figures before the first call.
- An About page that explains how the firm works, from the first visit to the final decision.
The result
Property owners can see what Business & Ratings does, read real cases and send their rates bill in one go.
