About FCOMS UK CIC

FCOMS UK CIC is a Community Interest Company in West Bromwich. We build websites, apps and AI tools for small businesses and charities, and we repair and upgrade computers. The profit pays for refurbished computers and digital help for people in Sandwell who can’t afford them.

How FCOMS started

Our founder set up FCOMS UK CIC on 21 August 2023 with one aim: getting more people in the West Midlands online, and confident once they’re there.

The first year was mostly training. A government grant paid for free IT courses, and by December 2024 we’d trained 39 people in everyday skills like word processing, spreadsheets and running a business social media page. In the same period we designed letterheads, email signatures and business cards for 17 local business owners at a discount, built eight websites, and helped people find 11 recycled laptops. We didn’t have an office then. We met clients in community centres and pubs around West Bromwich.

Two things kept coming up. Small businesses and charities needed websites and IT they could rely on, at a fair price. And good computers kept ending up in bins while local families went without one. So FCOMS became what it is now: a tech business that does commercial work properly, and puts the profit into getting devices and skills to the people who need them.

The training programmes have finished. Today we work from an office at 309 High Street, West Bromwich, and do four things: web design, app and software development, AI and automation, and PC repair and upgrades, with IT support for businesses on monthly plans.

What being a CIC means

A Community Interest Company is a business that exists for a community purpose. We’re registered at Companies House as a company limited by guarantee, we report every year on how we benefit the community, and an “asset lock” means our assets can’t be taken out for private gain.

In practice:

  • We charge fair, fixed prices for web, app, AI and repair work.
  • The profit pays for refurbishing donated computers and getting them to local families, schools and community groups.
  • Charities and not-for-profits get 15% off every web and app project.

Some of what that has paid for: in April 2026 a Barnardo’s Early Help team referred a family whose children had no computer for homework, and we delivered a PC to them. We also carry on the work of Here2Help West Midlands, a small charity that joined us in 2024. Read more on our Community Impact page.

Who runs FCOMS

FCOMS is run by its founder and a board of two directors, listed publicly at Companies House. Our founder builds the websites, apps and tools on our work page, including our own products TheRatesHub, ChickenSign and Hannah AI, and free community tools like 2Factor.co.uk. Our founder is also a trustee of Heritage Bridge CIO, a charity celebrating shared heritage across UK communities.

Why work with us

  • One team that builds and fixes. The people who build your website can also sort out the laptop you run it on.
  • Real work you can check. Every project on our work page is live, and you can visit it today.
  • Fixed prices. You get the price in writing before we start, and we ask before doing anything that would change it.
  • Local. Drop-off by appointment in West Bromwich, or collection anywhere in the West Midlands.
