At FCOMS UK CIC, our mission is to empower individuals, uplift businesses, and create sustainable digital solutions that benefit the community. Since our incorporation on 21 August 2023, we’ve dedicated ourselves to achieving meaningful change in the West Midlands and beyond. Today, we’re proud to reflect on what we’ve accomplished in such a short span of time.

Empowering Through Digital Skills

In today’s fast-paced digital world, IT skills are no longer optional—they’re essential. We’ve provided training to 39 individuals, equipping them with vital knowledge in:

• Basic word processing and spreadsheet tools.
• Social media marketing and business page management.

These skills not only enhance employability but also empower small businesses to thrive in a competitive digital landscape.

Supporting Local Businesses

Small businesses are the backbone of our community, and we’ve supported 17 local business owners with discounted graphic design services. From custom letterheads to professional email signatures and eye-catching business cards, we’ve helped entrepreneurs present their brands with confidence and professionalism.

Expanding Digital Presence

The importance of an online presence cannot be overstated. That’s why we’ve designed and delivered eight great websites for our clients, enhancing their visibility, credibility, and customer engagement in the digital realm.

Championing Sustainability in Technology

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We’ve worked diligently to prevent electronic waste from ending up in landfills:

• Reviving older devices like an Inspiron laptop that was underperforming, a Lenovo laptop upgraded with an SSD and additional RAM, and Acer machines that were gathering dust.
• Salvaging and repurposing devices destined for disposal, including an HP laptop retrieved from a bin, which was upgraded and given a second life in a local business.
• Reclaiming PCs off the street, upgrading them for donation to individuals in need.

Promoting Sustainable Choices

To bridge the digital divide and promote environmental responsibility, we’ve facilitated the purchase of 11 recycled laptops. This initiative provides affordable access to technology while reducing the demand for new devices.

Restoring What Matters Most

Technology can hold treasures—data and memories that are priceless. We’ve had the privilege of helping our clients recover:

• Critical documents from a damaged USB stick, saving them years of work.
• Irreplaceable family photos, restoring cherished memories that were accidentally erased.

Giving Back to the Community

At FCOMS UK CIC, we believe in the power of giving. This year, in collaboration with West Bromwich BID, we’ve begun packing gifts to support:

• Black Country Women’s Aid, providing essentials for individuals under their care.
• Local children, with toys and craft items to bring joy during the festive season.
